Catch broken flows before users report them

Custom Alerts lets you define policies with specific conditions. When a policy's conditions are met, your team gets notified through the channels you've configured. Catch broken guides, abandoned surveys, and missing UI elements before users report them.

Each policy picks a material type (guide or survey), a scope (all or one specific item), an alert type (Not Started, Not Completed, or Element Not Found), and a threshold in days. Stack as many policies as you need with different conditions and channels per policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Digest, Activity, and Custom Alerts?

Digest sends a weekly performance summary with metrics like guide views and new users. Activity sends a daily summary of survey responses and user reactions, only on days with new data. Custom Alerts are policy-based and trigger only when specific conditions are met on your guides or surveys.

Can I get alerts in Slack?

Yes. Connect a Slack webhook in Settings, then toggle Post to Slack on any alert policy. You can use email, Slack, or both. Each notification type (Digest, Activity, Alerts) has its own recipient and channel settings.

How does the alert threshold work?

The threshold sets how many days a condition must persist before the alert fires. Choose anywhere from 1 to 90 days. For example, a "Not Completed, 3 days" policy on a survey means you get alerted if users view but don't finish the survey within 3 days.

Can I create alerts for specific guides or surveys?

Yes. Each policy lets you choose between All (monitors everything of that type) or Specific (select one guide or survey). You can create unlimited policies with different scopes, conditions, and thresholds.

What types of alerts can I create?

Three types. Not Started triggers when content hasn't been started within your threshold period. Not Completed triggers when users have viewed content but haven't finished it. Element Not Found triggers when a guide step's target element is missing from the page.
