No-code is the future.
If we were to rewind 10 years from now, many applications and web designs would depend on professional developers who had to work day and night to make the code work.
The technical skills required to get custom apps or any other software up and running were not a joke, and the manual processes of writing lines of code weren’t either.
Fast-forward to 2022, the developer’s job is to code a tool to help us develop – with no code.
It is the best time to jump on to no-code train now.Arun Saigal, Cofounder and CEO Thunkable
No-code is the future. If you become an expert now,
you will be one of the most in-demand people
in the future.
You may not realize it, but you’ve probably used a wide range of no-code or low-code platforms already.
The chances are even higher if you are a creator on the web. And if you think you haven’t used them, you definitely came across one.
Even something as challenging as creating a website or building an app can be possible thanks to no-code tools.
So today, let’s talk about:
- What no-code is,
- What you can do with a no-code tool,
- What some no-code types are, and
- Some of the best no-code tools
Jump to the best no-code tools from this list:
- Hubspot CMS
- Appy Pie
- Bravo Studio
- Google Analytics
- HubSpot Marketing Hub
But what are no-code tools exactly?
What is no-code?
No-code or a no-code tool, to be more practical, is a method and a movement of programming that does not necessarily involve writing code for the users but instead works with GUI (Graphic User Interface) tools. This is so to say that no-code tools don’t depend on their users’ knowledge and ability to use code; instead, it makes use of way simpler methods to increase efficiency.
However, if we were to look into it, we must make something clear.
“No-code” doesn’t really mean no-code.
In fact, there is coding, and that is the coding the people who developed the tool did. However, for an easier and cheaper experience for the user of the tool (meaning most businesses today) and more scalable business processes, all you need to do is click, scroll, and/or drag and drop.
Mr. Robot doesn’t seem so cool now, does he?
What can I do with a no-code tool?
Today, there is almost no limitation to what you can create with a no-code tool.
In fact, you can count a lot of things you already did without knowing it was no code. From creating a website to building custom apps, there are so many possibilities. You can automate your work or home tasks with no code automation tools, you can organize your data, or you can get paid via no code.
Remember that one time you created a survey online? That was no-code too.
To code, or not to code. That is not the question anymore.
No-code is not focused on one specific industry or area of work, there are many kinds of tools. However, it doesn’t change the fact that all no-code tools have a purpose – be it in one industry or another.
Let’s look at the types of common no-code tools and no-code solutions.
No-Code Tool Types
Believe me when I say that there are as many types of no-code tools as there are no-code tools.
Since most of these tools are equipped with different kinds of features, it is very hard to say one specific tool is one type of tool unless the software developers declare that it is.
However, there are some prominent types that are big requirements for SaaS businesses, so instead of going down to the philosophy of no-code development and tech, let’s talk about them.
Building a website, let alone an app is one big task.
But we seem to have forgotten this, thanks to no-code tools for website/app building. While no-code tools like Bubble, Webflow, and Carrd are among the forerunners of no-code web app builders, there are many other options for smaller or enterprise-level companies.
Of course, with these tools, you are unlikely to be able to build an app like clubhouse, but it will definitely be possible in the future.
Onboarding/ Interactive Guides
You have built a website alright, but you cannot be the only one who knows how to navigate through it.
No-code tools for interactive guides come into the picture right here. These guides are designed to work for all industries since you are the one creating the content of it.
While there are no code tools, there are also low code tools for onboarding solutions, but in my humble opinion, it is best to entrust your very own no-code product to a trusted no-code solution (I’ve just the one for you)
In the last couple of years, or maybe even the last decade, voice tech slowly but surely became a big part of our lives.
And now, people look for voice integrations left and right.
If you are like me, you also talk to Siri or Alexa a lot. They make it all easier, and it is always fun to find out what you can and can’t do with just a voice command.
No-code voice tools are made by people who understand that and look for better ways to let us use our voice with no code. Voiceflow and Otter.ai are among those tools that help you get your customers accustomed to the luxury of voice tech.
No-code tools for project managers are no trivial matter either.
Now, I don’t want to reveal just how young I am, but the excel files and notebook checklists were nowhere to be found when I stepped into business. I even have a hard time with Google Sheets still.
This could be because I am in the SaaS industry or because those aren’t really a thing anymore. And we have no other than no-code project management tools to blame for that.
Think of a world where you can’t just open Notion or Airtable; add a topic there for all your teammates to see and know that the task is gonna get done.
Or just think of 20 years ago, I guess 🤯
It just doesn’t feel right.
But we don’t really have to think about such a scenario since no-code project management is only getting better every day.
Without automation, so many businesses would be doomed to go bankrupt.
Everybody wants everything right, fast, and on time now, and it is no human task to make that wish come true.
So, it goes without saying that we need no-code automation. And no-code automation specifically, because automation and the rest of the tasks in all businesses have become so intertwined that everyone needs to make automation for their own needs now.
So yes, no code automation tools like Juphy, Zapier, and Automate.io are here to stay.
Now, if you think automation cannot be entrusted to a human being, get ready for this one ’cause I assure you: you should let the computers do the math.
Of course, analytics goes further than calculation and reporting; and no-code analytics tools like Obviously.ai and Mixpanel prove that. They make the whole process so much easier with visuals and drag-and-drop features that I’d even say they make analytics fun.
Math was my worst subject at school too, mind you.
With no-code software like Google Analytics and its suite of tools, you might not even need a premium plan to handle your analytics-related business processes.
All good SaaS companies have at least one thing in common: good customer service.
That is precisely why it is important that you get your customer service up to the top-notch. And when you are aiming for perfection, the fastest and the most effective solution is no code.
Tools like Zendesk and Intercom got your back.
Marketing is an inseparable part of any business.
And so, there is an abundance of no-code tools dedicated to various types of marketing, like email marketing, social media marketing, and conversational marketing. But let’s remember why exactly no-code marketing tools matter so greatly.
Marketing is a fast-paced, critical business.
It is easy enough to deduce that there is no room for the intricacies of coding. Thus, no-code tools like HubSpot Marketing Hub and MailChimp have the spotlight on ’em.
Now that you know the types of no-code tools, we can head over to talk about the tools themselves.
But before we start the no-code/low-code product hunt, we’ve attended TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin 2019 and compiled a list of the best low/no-code startups from the event; I recommend you take a look 😎
And now, let’s take a look at my favorite no-code examples from our no-code growth marketing report.

Bubble.io gives you the opportunity to prototype a whole app, build and launch in hours, and scale your growth efficiently. With a powerful set of internal tools, it is functional and easy to use at the same time.
However, what really made me fall in love with the product was the feature that lets you edit the main page, which showcases how easy it is to create and edit a website while gaining further admiration with this clever trick.
Bubble.io has a free tier version as well as 3 more paid pricing plans.

Webflow is a website-building platform that lets you design and launch responsive websites. You may have had experiences with other website builders, but Webflow will feel really special.
I’ll give you 3 reasons why:
Details, details, and details.
Most website builders will let you customize to a certain extent, but with Webflow, it feels as easy as dragging and clicking and as in control as writing custom code.
Furthermore, it is very customizable. You can choose to start from scratch and build a fully responsive website just the way you like, or you can use a template if you want to go the quicker way.
Webflow is easily among the best no-code tools in the no-code web app builder category.
Webflow has different tiers and prices for individual plans, site plans, and workspace plans. One of the most preferred plan types, site plans, has three tiers apart from the free plan:
Basic – $12 /month, billed yearly
CMS – $16 /month, billed yearly
Business – $36 /month, billed yearly
Imagine Webflow but in a quicker and easier way.
Carrd is a perfect no-code tool for building simpler websites. Yet, don’t let that mislead you, Carrd is just as powerful as the other tools, but with a different aim.
Carrd is designed to build one-page websites that you can customize using templates or from scratch. Thanks to its simplicity and price, Carrd finds a spot on this list.
It will let you have 3 websites and use all the core features for free, and if you want to go pro, it’ll cost you only $19 a year. Yes, a year!
Carrd has 3 different plans with custom options for each.
- Pro Lite – starting from $9 / year
- Pro Standard – starting from $19 / year
- Pro Plus – starting from $49 / year
Another no-code app-building tool with great potential is Thunkable.
With powerful features and an easy-to-use interface, this one’s just right for a quick mock-up and will automatically get your business apps or other custom applications working on both IOS and Android.
What I personally like besides the ease of drag-and-drop and easy animations is the option to either start from scratch or remix with existing sample projects; Thunkable got your back even if you don’t have formal development experience.
Thunkable has a free plan that lets users have 200MB of space on their accounts. When upgraded, you can either go with personal or business plans:
- Starter – $13/month (personal plan)

Onboarding / Interactive Guides
During using onboarding, we have one primary goal in mind: making sure the user comes back.
And you can’t really succeed if you can’t get your user to sign in on your website/app.
Now, getting a login/sign-in function or even a payment section isn’t really the easiest part of coding if you are entrusting it to an in-house developer.
That’s why I recommend you use a no-code tool like Memberstack.
Although it is a fairly new tool, it has gained quite some popularity. From secure login to gated content as well as integrations with Zapier and Integromat and a perfect match with Webflow, Memberstack has a lot to offer.
There is no free plan for Memberstack, but you get to use unlimited features for free until your website goes live.
- Basic -$25 month/site, 1,000 total members
- Professional– $35 month/site 10,000 total members
- Established – custom
Now that you have developed your website or web app using a no-code tool or with the hard work of your developers, you will need a way to onboard new users.
What would you say if I told you there is no need to code at this stage either?
UserGuiding is a user onboarding tool to create the best user onboarding experiences for your product. Without any coding, UserGuiding helps you with various elements such as:
- Interactive Product Tours,
- User Guides,
- Onboarding Checklists,
- Feature Highlights,

- In-App Messages
The guided tour software works as a browser extension and works directly on your product:
In addition, you can segment users to create personalized experiences and have them go through only the necessary onboarding elements based on their purposes.
Also, UserGuiding enables you to track the performance of your creations with an in-depth analytics tool.
UserGuiding offers a 14-day free trial and three premium plans.
- Basic Plan – $69/month
- Professional Plan – $299/month

Create interactive user manuals from scratch, without any coding:
After Siri’s debut as a voice assistant in 2011, we’ve come a long way.
With Amazon’s Alexa and Google’s Google Assistant taking their place right next to Siri as the most prominent voice assistants, it was high time voice tech became a no-code tool.
Now be honest, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to customize your voice assistant more?
Voiceflow does exactly that.
With Voiceflow you can prototype on the browser or try it on the actual voice device, thanks to the feature that lets you upload with one click. Voiceflow can be used for Alexa or Google Assistant. And even when you are working with a team, there’s a space in the tool just for that purpose.
What makes Voiceflow especially good is probably its UI. With the drag-and-drop option, the no-code software lets you visually prepare your voice app in a very efficient and fun way.
- Starter – Free
- Team – $40 editor/month
- Enterprise – Custom
There’s something very fascinating about voice technologies (probably because I am a die-hard Iron Man fan) that we don’t seem to grasp fully yet, and every time a company like Otter.ai comes up with a new thing, we just stop for a moment and say: wait, that’s possible?
With features like live transcription, automatic meeting note summaries, easy recording options, and a ton of integrations, Otter.ai offers an interactive experience we didn’t really consider happening.
But it did happen, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
Well, to be exact, most of us had the first impression already as Otter started working with Google Meet and Zoom for live transcription. And let’s not forget that Dropbox, IBM, and Verizon Connect also use Otter.ai.
- Basic – Free
- Pro – $8.33 /month (billed annually)
- Business – $20 month/ user (billed annually)
- Enterprise – custom

I don’t know about you, but every time I use a spreadsheet, it feels like coding.
However, this spreadsheet and database hybrid tool doesn’t need you to code at all. Airtable is a tool that looks like a spreadsheet, but it is way more than that.
Being mostly used for project management, Airtable provides a very needed workspace for all the members of your team. Apart from the ease of use it offers, thanks to the blocks and labeling system, Airtable is fun to use (if you have ever worked on a project before, you’d know that fun UI is a mood booster).
Also, you might want to keep in mind that Netflix, Buzzfeed, and Medium work with Airtable.
- Airtable has a free tier that offers essential features as well as unlimited bases, 2 GB space, and 1200 records per base.

Notion is an all-in-one workplace, as team Notion calls it. And I can testify that it really is.
With Notion, your team and the whole company can work collaboratively, create tasks, track processes, and do a lot more.
The whole idea behind Notion is to give teams and departments the flexibility and collaboration they need in and out of the office, and they do a pretty good job at that.
Notion offers two different tiers for individuals and businesses. While there is a free plan for individuals, upgrading to personal pro costs $4 per month. The pricing is a bit different for teams;
- Personal – free
- Personal Pro – $4/per month, billed annually
- Team – $4/per month, billed annually
- Enterprise – custom

Coda has one purpose: bringing all the data and people back into the same space. And they do it pretty well.
With Coda’s all-in-one doc, your team can vote on ideas, create roadmaps, draft projects, and even play games. Among the companies that are on the same doc with Coda are Spotify, the New York Times, Doordash, and Uber.
Coda’s pricing is one of a kind in one aspect; they don’t charge for every member like some other tools do. Instead, they only charge for the members who create docs; the editors and viewers are always free. Plus, they offer a free tier too.

- Team -$30/per month/per doc maker
- Enterprise – custom

Obviously.ai is a data science tool that will help you make very informed decisions for your SaaS business.
Taking pride in working with Yahoo! and Forbes, Obviously.ai makes sure to create the easiest and simplest prediction experience for you. However, don’t be fooled, as much as it is a big no-brainer tool, it does make a difference with what-if scenarios and integrations with the most necessary tools.
Obviously.ai has three plans, one of which is a free plan. The other two plans, Pro and Pro Plus have custom pricing.
Mixpanel is a product analytics tool that helps teams figure out the when and whys of churn, make fast decisions, and build better products. Working with more than 26.000 companies (including Twitter and Uber), this tool is sure to transform your reports into way more meaningful CTAs.
What I really like about Mixpanel is how customizable its reports are. Many users report ease of use, but the ease of use means nothing when there is not much to work with from the beginning. So, what Mixpanel does is that it brings together ease of use and customizable features together.
Mixpanel has a free plan with which you can track 100K monthly users; when you want to upgrade, there is the Growth plan starting at $25 a month. And when you are finally ready to upgrade to Enterprise, Mixpanel is a phone call away.

30- HubSpot Marketing Hub
We’ve already mentioned Hubspot’s CMS at #1, but the Marketing Hub of Hubspot deserves its own mention under the marketing category because it is, well, amazing.
Even if you already have your website, landing pages, and blog built on another platform, Hubspot can still be used to create marketing content that acts on top of them.
Hubspot’s Marketing Hub allows you to:
- Create Popups and Embed Forms to capture leads,
- Create CTA Buttons and Images to convert customers,
- Create beautiful Emails and seamlessly run Automated/Triggered Email Campaigns.
- Put all of the features together to create Workflows/Automations that save you hours.
- Collaborate with Sales and Support teams to offer smooth experiences to customers.
Hubspot has it all!
